‘Arya’ made by director Sukumar, featuring Allu Arjun and Anu Mehtha in the lead roles with Siva Balaji in a cameo bagged a sensational success in the past, is a well acquainted fact.
Presently, a sequel for Arya is being made with the cast including Allu Arjun, Kajal and Navdeep. Director of the former flick, Sukumar is making this sequel.
The shooting of this film, kept in a pause mode resumed after cameraman Rajasekhar joined the crew. Recently, some scenes were reeled at Musheerabad. It is learnt that from the 7th of this month, some scenes will be shot on the hero and heroine, in special sets constructed at Annapurna Studios.

Varma's 'Raktha Charithra' begins Nov 28
The sensational movie maker Ram Gopal Varma, is presently busy with his latest venture based on the backdrop of Rayala Seema faction, titled as 'Raktha Charithra'. It is known that the story is based on the assassination of Paritala Ravi.
To gather information on the incident RGV himself is touring the locations of Rayala Seema. As a part of it, he has recently met Maddela Cheruvu Suri the main suspect in the case, and also Paritala Sunita wife of Partala Ravi, for the script work.
The shooting will begin from 28th November as planned. Debutants Dharma and Raksha are being introduced as directors with this film. It is learnt that the film will be completed by April 2009, with a planned schedule of regular shooting.

Siddarth's new film starts rolling
Siddarth's new film titled ‘Oy!’ has started rolling today. Directed by a debutant Anand Ranga, a one-time associate of ‘Bommarillu’ Baskar, the film has been in the news for the right reasons since its pre-production stage. An important reason for this is the introduction of Shamlee, sister of Shalini Ajith Kumar and Rishi, as the heroine.
Siddarth has been known to choose his roles with care, and it is a known fact that for this young heartthrob, quality matters more than quantity. Likewise, Shamlee has created waves as a child artiste, playing challenging roles to perfection. She was last seen in Rajeev Menon's 'Kandukondein Kandukondein', and after a long self-imposed hiatus, she is debuting as heroine opposite Siddarth. Well, this will definitely be an interesting combination to watch out for!
Cinematography for the film is by Sameer Reddy and music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

As polls near, film stars get working on fans
With megastar Chiranjeevi stirring up the political atmosphere with his entry, filmstars backing the other main political parties in the state are working overtime to sway their fans.
On Sunday, there was action at two film studios in the city with the stars holding meetings with their fans.
While the Nandamuri clan’s action was seen at the Ramakrishna Horticultural Cine Studios at Nacharam, hero Krishna met up with his fans at the Padmalaya studios.
NTR’s clan including Balakrishna, NTR Jr, Kalyan Ram and Tarakaratna displaying unity and declaring that there were no differences in their family urged the hundreds of fans who had thronged the place to work for the victory of the Telugu Desam Party
Fans at Ramakrishna Studios could not stop their enthusiasm and while promising to work for the victory of TDP during the elections said “this time we will help Chandrababu Naidu to become the chief minister but our ultimate goal is to see Balaiahbabu,” as the chief minister.
Addressing the fans, Balakrishna asked them to rid the state of corrupt and inept administration. The fruits of the welfare schemes were not reaching the people as the Congress government was deep rooted in corruption.
He said that he along with his nephews would tour the state and launch a massive campaign against corruption and expose the misdeeds of the government.
At the Padmalaya Studios, Krishna told scores of his son Mahesh Babu’s fans that they should ensure that the Congress romps home to power when elections are held.
Krishna, however, told his fans that his son Mahesh Babu would not enter politics now.
The yesteryear hero, known as ‘superstar’ reminded his fans that he had always been with the Congress. Krishna, it may be mentioned here, had also been a Congress MP.
So long as Chiranjeevi appeared to be wavering in his decision about entering politics, both the TDP and the Congress showed no interest in using their back-up ‘star power’ for political needs.
With the need now arising because of Chiranjeevi taking the plunge, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu recently met NTR’s son Balakrishna, Harikrishna and his sons Kalyan Ram and NTR junior.
However, Tarakaratna, son of Mohan Krishna, one of NTR’s sons recently ruffled feathers when in a meeting at Vinukonda in Guntur district declared that the Telugu Desam Party belonged to his grandfather NTR and Balakrishna was their future leader.
Since he did not take Chandrababu Naidu’s name, Naidu quickly saw Tarakaratna’s mood and invited even him for another meeting he had with the actors in NTR’s clan.
All the actors met up with their fans at the Ramakrishna Horticultural Cine Studios at Nacharam and urged them to gear up for a massive show in Guntur later this month.
With such activity being seen regularly in the Telugu Desam Party camp, hero Krishna also put up a show at the Padmalaya studios.
His son Mahesh Babu is a crowd puller and who had delivered huge hits in recent years. In the Telugu film industry, he is now the biggest star.
The support of the fans of Krishna and Mahesh Babu would be of great help to the Congress to attempt to upset Chiranjeevi’s calculations.

Dr Ramineni Award glorifies Ramaprabha
Ramineni Foundation was founded in the year 1995 in USA, to protect and promote the monumental heritage of Indian culture. On the occasion of Dr Ramineni’s 70th birthday, his children started the foundation in India on 12-10-1999. From then onwards every year the organization presents awards to people who rendered special services in various fields. This year the awards function is organized to be held on 12th of this month. On this occasion, a press meet was organized on 4th, by the members of this foundation.
Speaking to the press Convener Mr. AVS said, “Everyone is aware that every year Ramineni Foundation will honor people who have contributed with special services, in various fields. As a part of it, scientist Dr.Kota Hari Narayana is selected to receive this year’s ‘Visishta Pruraskaram’. And the president of Thotapalem Library Mr.KVV Mallikarjuna Rao, the senior journalist CV Rajagopal Rao and the senior actress Rama Prabha are selected to receive the Visesha Puraskaram for this year of 2008.
The awards will be presented on 12th October, in a function at Taj Deccan, Hyderabad. The event will be graced by the senior political leader of BJP, M.Venkaiah Naidu as chief guest. Chief Justice Chalameshwar, and president of MAA Murali Mohan and others are invited for the function. On this occasion Vempati China Satyam is going to present a cultural programme, said the convener.

Vishnu’s engagement on Oct 19
Mohan Babu’s son Vishnu is getting engaged to his girl friend Veronica. She is the daughter of Y S Sudhakar Reddy, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy’s brother. The marriage will take place some time later this year. The engagement ceremony is fixed on October 19.
Who’s who of the glamour world and the political arena will attend this ceremony. Mohan Babu is also hosting a party on October 17th for media personnel and his colleagues in film world.

‘Ghajini’ Surya is now ‘Surya S/O Krishnan’
Aascar Films Ravichandran a big producer, who bagged a world wide sensational success with ’Dasavatharam’, is now making a new film in a huge budget, casting ’Ghajini’ Surya in a double role lead. The film is titled as ’Surya S/o Krishnan’. Gautham Menon, the man who directed the cop flick ’Gharshana’ is directing this film. The music composed by top music director Harris Jayaraj was recently released in Tamil and has become a chartbuster hit.
Preparations are on to release the Telugu audio in a grand event, on the eve of Vijaya Dasami, in the presence of eminent persons from the Film Industry, said Mr C.J.Ramana & Vijay the heads of SVR Media, who have acquired rights to release the film in Telugu.
Speaking to the press director Gautham Menon said, “Wonderful performance of Surya is the highlight for this film. In combination with Harris Jayaraj this has become another musical hit for me. The film which is lavishly made on Aascar Ravichandran’s banner has a blend of love, action and emotion. As a director, I am satisfied with all the aspects in this film. I am sure this will register a huge success commercially. This will also be a sensational hit in Surya’s career.”
Many corporate companies are competing to own the distribution rights for this film. Further, the producer of hits ’Dil’ Raju has purchased the Naizam area rights with a fancy offer, and this in turn has increased the expectations on the film.
The movie which chronicles the life of a man from childhood to old age for which Surya had undergone drastic physical changes to portray the character. The six pack abs displayed by the actor has created hype in the south already. All these elements add up to the upcoming film ‘Surya S/O Krishnan’.
Surya, Sameera Reddy, Divya Spandana and Simran are playing the main cast. Music is composed by Harris Jayaraj, photography by Rathna Velu and editing is done by Anthony. Art direction is handles by Rajeev, Stunts co-ordinated by Super Subbahrayan and Hijack Javed.

Shriya`s first ever lip-lock on screen!
Grapevine from Kollywood is abuzz that actress Shriya Saran will lock lips with Kamal Haasan in the latter’s upcoming film Marmayogi.
There is reportedly a sequence in the film where Kamal recalls his tragic past. This flashback would feature Shriya as Kamal’s wife and there would also be a passionate kiss between the two stars.
While Kamal has a knack of kissing his female leads in every other film, this would be Shriya’s first lip lock before the camera.
Shriya admits that Kamal has approached her, but she adds that she hasn’t yet gone through the script to confirm such a kissing scene in ‘Marmayogi’, which Kamal would direct himself.

Big offer for Ravi Teja and Surendar Reddy’s film
It is known that RR Movie Makers has roped in Ravi Teja and Ileyana to play the lead in a movie to be made in the direction of Surendar Reddy who earlier directed hit films like ’Athanokkade’, ’Ashok’, and ’Athidi’. The new film is being produced by Venkat.
The shooting of this film will begin from 9th October on the eve of Vijaya Dasami. It is learnt that a Television channel has offered 3-crores and 10 lakhs for the satellite rights of this film. Apart from this movie, one more Ravi Teja’s movie along with two other has been acquired satellite rights for a channel.
Shweta is busy learning Telugu
Shweta Bharadwaj who is making her debut in Tollywood with a suspense thriller Indumathi is learning Telugu from actress Sindhura Gadde.
"She is teaching the nuances of the language,” confessed the model-turned-actress, who praised her guru’s teaching abilities. "I want to do more Tollywood films but I haven’t received anything exciting yet,” informs the actress, who talks about thumbing down a plum offer. Sneha Ullal, the look alike of Aishwarya Rai is getting popular in Tollywood. After her debut in Ullasamga Utsahamga, she is doing movies with Manoj in Nenu Meeku Telusa and an untitled film with Sharwanand.
Now Sneha Ullal is selected as heroine for Sushanth in his next film Current. This film will have its official launch and start regular shooting in November. Current is being directed by a debutant director Pratap who was earlier worked with Raghu Babu and Sukumar.
